How is Christianity Different from Other Religions?
Is Jesus “the way” or only one of many ways to God? Does God reject the millions of people who follow other religious traditions? Are followers of many of today’s religions really talking to the same God and teaching the same basic beliefs? In this series of discussions, you’ll examine what some of the major world religions teach and compare each with the beliefs of Christianity. You’ll also investigate what Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses believe, since they are often labeled “Christian,” yet hold several beliefs that are distinct from traditional Christianity.
The Contenders series is purposely designed to give truth seekers an opportunity to ask questions and probe into the basics of Christianity within the friendly, caring environment of small group discussion. The questions are presented to represent the viewpoints of both the Christian and the skeptic. Those who already follow Jesus will grow in the basic beliefs of the Christian faith and understand how to address the issues of their friends who are still exploring Christianity. 6 Sessions.

If it is true that “no man is an island” then the word “relationship” is the most important word in the English language and how we function in connection with others becomes the most important task in life. Community is the system of life interaction with others and is essential for living full and meaningful lives. The community of believers, the Church, was created not only to equip those who have found life in Christ but also to reach those who have not yet responded to His grace. This study series will reveal the construction of the New Testament church from its commission in the early chapters of Acts to the spread and multiplication of local bodies around the world. In Peter’s preaching and Paul’s missionary journeys and letters to churches, learners will come face to face with key issues in relevant church ministry, catch a glimpse of what Christian community is intended to be, and be challenged to play their part in the 21st Century Church.

We’ve all had moments that define our lives. Things happen that change some aspect of our lives forever. Defining moments can impact the world for better or for worse, and they’re happening all around us. All the time. But then there are divine moments. We encounter God, and everything changes.
The Old Testament is a record of people who unmistakably encountered God. Most of the time, the experience was accompanied with great fear, awe and worship. These encounters changed lives, shaped history, and brought about redemption for the entire human race. And it all began by God revealing Himself to one person at a time. God still talks to us today. Really. Now, He might not communicate with a big, booming voice, but He’s there, communicating, guiding… loving.
