Greetings! This blog is associated with the Sunday School ministry at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Monrovia community just NW of Huntsville Al in Madison county. My name is Steve Jernigan. Along with my wife Kenya, I lead a 20’s – 30’s co-ed class that meets at 9:45 on Sunday mornings. We meet upstairs in the CMC in room 206-207. The CMC is the big building behind the new sanctuary.

Hopefully, this blog will provide a way to share information and maybe even spark some discussion. I also hope to tweak your curiosity enough that you drop by one Sunday morning to visit us. We are a lot more interesting in person :-)

Oh yea, about the title. It’s a Latin phrase. “Carpe Diem” means “Seize the Day”. It is commonly used in everyday language, literature, movies, and so on. “Coram Deo” is not as common. It means “In the Presence of God” or “Before the Eyes of God”. So, put the two together and you have “Seize the Day before the Eyes of God”. Its a pretty good way to live your life.

Hope to see you soon and may God bless!

Steve J.
